2022: A Reflection
The highs, the lows, and 12 lessons in between
As a big planner and a structured thinker, reflection and annual resolution-making are something that I constantly do without any hesitation. Reflecting has big impact over what I was, who I am, and where I will go in the future. And starting each year with a resolution gave me a sense of purpose — after all, how can one be a better version of themselves without a purpose? Moreover, as a designer, I am a big believer of “iteration” — a process that needs constant reflection and endless learning process in order to improve. In some ways, that aligns with who I am.
Approaching the end of 2022, my mind went crazy over the fact that the past 365 days have been the most insane roller coaster year. Here I am on the last day of 2022: battered, exhausted, partially depressed, questioning my sanity, yet I know I have learned some of the most valuable lessons about life that I will remember for the rest of my life. Don’t get me wrong, it is not a bad year, but it’s far from easy. 2022 has shaken me physically, mentally, and spiritually. The year started slow and easy then turned into a loop of madness, and just like what everyone feels, suddenly it’s the last day of 2022 already.
